I am in Milan this week for the 8th European conference on Oncoplastic & Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast. This will be a chance to revisit a few key issues that have come to prominence over the last 12 months, and also to discuss ongoing controversies. Key amongst the presentations, I am looking forward to further discussions regarding breast reconstruction outcomes, including from Dr Andrea Pusic who I have recently mentioned. The topics are a little more varied that at the recent London Breast Meeting in September, with a greater involvement of my Breast Surgery colleagues, so it will also be timely for me to get back up to speed on current issues in breast cancer treatment. Of course, Milan isn’t a terrible place to spend a few days, so as always, it should be nice to grab an espresso in the morning, an aperitivo in the evening, and in between, do as they do in Milan!
